Iceberg lettuce is another of the most characteristic crops of our land. Juicy, crunchy and always tender, our lettuces enjoy great international prestige, as we produce more than 40 million pieces per year.
Thanks to the unbeatable climatic and soil conditions of our land, we can produce different varieties of tomato throughout the year.
The red-fleshed grapefruit of the Star Ruby variety is a citrus fruit with an intense red colour and provides abundant juice with a slightly sweeter and less bitter taste than other varieties.
As for stone fruit, we sell around 1,400 tonnes of nectarines, flat peaches and peaches per year, which also enjoy great international prestige.
Our fruit and vegetables are characterised by their quality, freshness and flavour. They are harvested at their best moment of ripeness and arrive at the markets in perfect condition.

Coáguilas SCL is located in Águilas, in the southeast of the Iberian Peninsula, on the shores of the Mediterranean. It enjoys a privileged climate that has always allowed us to enjoy an average annual temperature of 25 °C, and to be able to grow the best varieties of fruit and vegetables all year round in its fields.
We have our own seedbed, which allows us to select the varieties that are best suited to our growing conditions. In this way we cover all the phases of cultivation, handling and packaging of fresh produce, specifically fruit and vegetables, for subsequent marketing.
The scope of our business is international, at a European and national level, geographies where we have an important portfolio of clients who support us with loyalty and trust, constituting one of the best credentials we currently have.
Based on each variety of fruit or vegetable, we establish the typical characteristics that give them the best quality, checking that they meet the required standards in terms of ripeness, texture, flavour, size and weight before packing them. We take care of the products until the final stage in order to guarantee their freshness during transport until their final delivery.
We have specialised in the packaging of fresh produce, so we are able to slow down or reduce the chemical, physical and microbiological deterioration suffered by fruit and vegetables during the subsequent handling to which the products are subjected from the moment they are harvested until they reach the consumer. We have a wide variety of packaging, with different materials and characteristics, which allow us to meet the specific demands of each market and comply with maximum guarantees of quality and food safety.
The cooperative society of Campo de Águilas, COÁGUILAS, was founded in 1985, when 48 tomato growers decided to join together in order to obtain a significant volume of production and thus gain access to the international market.
With an initial capital of 27,150 million pesetas, the cooperative acquired a 58,234 square metre plot of land in Paraje de Pozo, in Águilas, where an industrial building of 1,625 m2 was built, equipped with offices and the necessary machinery to handle tomatoes and lettuce, mainly, throughout the year.
As an entity within the Social Economy, where, as a cooperative, people and the social purpose are paramount, COAGUILAS employs more than 220 workers throughout the year, which contributes significantly to the active population of Águilas, both in direct and indirect jobs.
